Our Swift Kids Branch Celebrated Its 5th Anniversary!
In October, the Swfit Kids Branch celebrated its 5th anniversary on Maryland Avenue in Glendale! Members celebrated the occasion by making High Five Headbands, playing “Connect Five” and commemorating the milestone with a Club birthday cake.
The Swift Kids Branch is grateful for the cooperation of several community partners over the years, including Jerry Moyes and Swift Transporation, the City of Glendale, the Glendale School District, the Glendale Fire Department and the Arizona Cardinals. Swift strives to make a positive impact on its unique area of the Valley, helping youth develop into productive, responsible and caring citizens.
UPS Road Code
On October 19, teens from the BGCMP Robson Branch brought safe driving to the the Arizona Keystone Conference. The conference fosters leadership among teen members, and our representatives did a great job promoting safe driving habits. Club teens from around the state were able to test drive Rode Code simulators and received a crash course in safe driving.
Members of the Swift Kids Branch visited Glendale High School during homecoming week to discuss techinques taught by UPS Road Code. Celebratory times, like homecoming week, are notoriously dangerous for teen drivers, and our Swift Kids are doing what they can to drive change around this important issue.
UPS Road Code is sponsored by UPS and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Adopt a Family for the Holidays
The holidays are just around the corner, and unfortunately for many Arizona families, there is little reason for holiday cheer. Start a new holiday tradition by adopting a family this winter.
You can provide the holiday experience that a family thought was impossible. By adopting a family, not only are you creating life-long memories, you are telling our Valley kids that their community cares.
To make a difference today, please call (602) 954-8182 or email Vonn at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
